Test Plans

A Test Plan is a collection of Test Cases to be executed as a Test Run on a Bench. Each Test Plan allows for granular configuration of the Test Case parameters to enable unique Test Plans for different targets.

Creating a Test Plan

1. Sign-in to vsec.blockharbor.io

2. Navigate to Test on the sidebar menu to enter the VSEC Test application and then select the Test Plans submenu.

3. Click the Add test plan button to open the New Test Plan dialog.

4. Fill out the basic details of the Test Plan.

   Field	Requirement	Description
   Test Plan Name *	Required	A unique, short descriptor (e.g., Vehicle-MY-2026).
   Description	Optional	Internal notes or context regarding the purpose of this Test Plan.
   Asset	Optional	The asset this Test Plan tests, picked from the Asset Manager (e.g. a vehicle or an ECU). Its Test Cases can then each target it or one of its sub-assets.

5. Click the Create button to create the Test Plan.

Adding Test Cases

1. Navigate to the Test Plans submenu, where existing Test Plans are listed in a table.
2. Open the Test Plan to add Test Cases to by clicking its row or the view icon ( ) to go to its details page.
3. Click the Add test cases button to open the Add test cases to plan dialog.
4. Use the Interface dropdown to filter the list (choose All interfaces to see every available Test Case), and optionally search by name.
5. Select the desired Test Cases by checking the box next to each one.
6. Click the Add N cases button (where N is the number of Test Cases selected) to add them to the Test Plan.

Customizing Test Cases

1. Navigate to the Test Plans submenu.

2. Open the Test Plan whose Test Cases you want to customize by clicking its row or the view icon ( ) to go to its details page.

3. Locate the specific Test Case to customize and click the pencil icon ( ) to open its configuration options.

4. Edit the Test Case with custom parameter values for this Test Plan. The Name and Description cannot be modified.

   Field	Requirement	Description
   Name	CANNOT MODIFY	A unique, short descriptor (e.g., ccp_download).
   Description	CANNOT MODIFY	Internal notes or context regarding the purpose of this Test Case.
   Target asset	Optional	The asset this Test Case runs against: the Test Plan’s asset or one of its sub-assets. Only shown when the Test Plan is linked to an asset.
   Parameters	Required	Provides a granular method to customize Test Case parameter requirements.

5. Once all parameters have been updated, click the Save button to save changes.

Linking a Test Plan to an Asset

A Test Plan can be linked to one asset from the Asset Manager. For a vehicle-level Test Plan, link the vehicle, then give each Test Case the component it runs against as its Target asset. The Test Plan details page shows the linked asset under the description and each Test Case’s target in the Target asset column.

To link, change or unlink the asset later, open the Test Plan, click the pencil button ( ) at the top of its details page and pick an asset, or click Clear.

Removing Test Cases

1. Navigate to the Test Plans submenu.
2. Open the Test Plan whose Test Case(s) you want to remove by clicking its row or the view icon ( ) to go to its details page.
3. Locate the specific Test Case to remove and click the trash can icon ( ).
4. A confirmation window will pop-up. Confirm to remove the Test Case from the plan.

Deleting a Test Plan

1. Navigate to the Test Plans submenu.
2. Open the Test Plan you want to delete by clicking its row or the view icon ( ) to go to its details page.
3. Click the Delete button.
4. A confirmation window will pop-up. Confirm to permanently delete the Test Plan.
